Super Macro

So I'm getting really crap at keeping up this blog from what you can see....but hopefully I will get my shit together and keep it up.

So I was checking out my super macro button on my camera and took a couple of photos. The pesky little housefly that I refuse to kill, and the grasshopper that was hanging around all day on my screen. They look so beautiful up close!



Just look at it's lovely green colour! It's metallic colour is gorgeous, how can you swat that?



We are off to Vancouver tomorrow so hopefully will keep you posted with all the things that we will be doing. Maybe even catch a little Corrie in there somewhere....I'll get withdrawals if I don't see my show. :(

Chocolate Lollies!

I wanted to make something for Lucy's class, since it is her 6th birthday. I usually make cupcakes but with now working full time and getting bored of the cupcakes, I wandered into Bulk Barn looking for some inspiration. I love that store, so many yummy things to buy!! When I found some moulds, I thought I'd give the whole lollipop thing a go. The first three turned out really bad, then I burned a batch of chocolate (didn't think you could do that) but finally got it right. The little one loved them, as did all her class apparently. They tasted pretty yummy and they had this great glossy look to them! Will definitely make them again.

Our backyard chipmunk

For the past few days, we've been seeing this little guy or girl (how do you tell the difference?) in our backyard. Some days, he's perched on the planter, other days he is eating the birdseed that is supposed to be for the doves that hang out in our yard. It is the cutest little thing! Lucy can't understand why we can have him as a pet. I would love to, but I don't think the cats would like that very much.
