Yum Yum Tree Fudge

I received a box in the mail today. I wasn't expecting anything so I was very excited to see that it was from my friend Lily who lives in Suffolk. She has a wonderful company called Yum Yum Tree Fudge, which is taking off like wildflowers! I love fudge but have always thought that fudge should taste like Maple and melt in your mouth.

Yum Yum Tree Fudge does melt in your mouth and the flavours are so amazing! I would never have tried Lime Coconut (now my favorite) if it was at a shop. I am (was) a Maple fan only. The Lime Coconut is out of this world! The Strawberry was so creamy as well as the Lemon. She did include Maple and Pecan which I have rated #2 but it is so nice to taste fudge in a different way. Lily sells more flavors on her website, so please stop by or pick some up at the local markets in and around Suffolk.

Just click on the tree~

We love Crazy Forts!

Lucy received a Crazy Fort this past Christmas which we love but found it didn't make a big enough fort. This past weekend, we took a trip to Toys "R" Us and picked up another one. I will say that it is hard for a 6 year old and a 45 year old (hubby) to put together. I think it is because they both lack patience... It has taken over the living room as you can see but only for another 4 hours-it must come down so we can watch the Canada/USA hockey game. No doubt, it will be put back together in her room tomorrow. For a personal touch, Lucy added her socks to the top as flags.

Rainbow Cupcakes

Lucy and I decided to make cupcakes last night. So out we went to IGA and bought some cake mix- (shame on me for not making it from scratch) and some food colouring. Once the batter was ready, we poured it into 4 bowls with the colouring. Once we mixed it up, Lucy spooned the mix into the muffin cups.

I would have put the icing on in a much prettier way but with a 6 year old with zero patience, this is how they came out. Delish!

6 months later

It seems quite fitting that my last post was six months ago, when we got back from Whistler/Vancouver. And now, while the whole world is focused on The Olympics in Vancouver nothing can be better than Alexandre Bilodeau winning Gold, the first time ever that an Olympian has won a gold medal on Canadian soil. It was a fantastic, proud moment to watch him stand there representing our nation. We look forward to more medals but this is the one that we will remember forever.
